Atlantis Virtual World LtdIdeas becoming reality.Atlantis Virtual World uses technology and skills to provide economic solutions, often achieving what many may consider impossible on very low budgets.

We decided to specialize in digital production and have been able to take advantage of long term skills in computing, programming and photography as well as newer directing and production experience. Some of our developments have included undercover and cameras hidden within the film set, allowing filming in ordinary houses instead of needing to build film sets, and with 360 degree filming as opposed to having a dead area in each set. We also have a full size paramotor to allow aerial filming, a radio controlled miniature Paramotor and a training simulator for radio controlled helicopters. Productions - Film and TV divisionThe Film and TV side of Atlantis Virtual World Ltd was established in 1994, and started out as a specialist TV drama serial producer. Projects included the 26 part series Special People, After Nine, and several others. We also own video-channel.co.uk and video-channel.org which will eventually be both a portal and internet broadcaster. As well as Film and TV, this division handles video products and multi media convergence. Internet DivisionMany years ago now we established the New Atlantis multi-line bulletin board system, which was popular and ran for some years. Eventually the Internet gained popularity and BBS's went out of fashion. The Internet at that time was unstable, crude by current standards and even currently we are unable to do as much on the Internet as we were able to on the BBS. For this reason AVW did not enter the Internet scene in a large way immediately but experimented, and watched. We have over the years done some developments for others, but this had not been widely promoted. It was more a case that we had the expertise in house and were able to help out. In early 1999, we decided it was time to get involved so carried out a lot of market research as well as looking at what could and was being done, and decided on the first product sites to launch. Since then the plan and list of sites in development has grown. We now have a very large number of web sites ranging from portals and shopping centers to a wide range of specialist sites. We support and have developed over 100 web sites. This part of the site tells you some of what is going on, with so much we cannot keep every project up to date on this site and obviously some of what we are doing is market sensitive, so as you would expect we are not giving all our development secrets away. A new DIY section however will help those interested in developing their own site. R&DR&D is the division that creates special cameras, products, and so much more. In this section we give you a flavor of the projects currently under development. This includes an experimental area not really meant for general use. We have started to add these areas to a number of our sites for example www.best-of-the-best.co,uk to make it easy to undertake experiments without damaging the rest of the web. It is also reducing the overall number of sites and allowing us to re-use some sites originally set up for experiments only. Special products divisionSpecial products some may see as a bi-product of our R&D, but one of our objectives has been to look at new uses for the technology and at any need where our expertise may prove helpful. Some such as CleverArt are so unique that they deserve a whole web site to themselves.
